Jhinak: Criminal Working For Mukhtar Gang Held After Encounter | Varanasi News – Times of India

Varanasi: Satyanarain Yadav alias Jhinak, a close aide of jailed mafia don Mukhtar Ansari’s shooter Rajan Pasi, was arrested after suffering bullet injury in his leg in an exchange of fire with Mehnagar police in Azamgarh district on Friday.
SP Azamgarh Anurag Arya said that on getting inputs regarding movement of Mukhtar gang’s shooter in his area, inspector Mehnagar Vinay Kumar Singh and his team members carried out a checking drive in the morning. During the drive, they tried to stop two motorcycle-borne youths heading to Mehnagar from Dih area.
“When challenged by the police, the duo turned their motorcycle towards Hatwa and tried to escape. When they were given a chase, the duo opened indiscriminate fire on the cops,” said Arya, adding, “The police also opened fire in self-defence. Hit by a bullet in the leg, one of the miscreants fell on the road while the other managed to escape.”
The injured miscreant was identified as Jhinak of Gorakhpur. A country-made revolver, live cartridges and a motorcycle were recovered from Jhinka, who was admitted to a hospital in police custody.
Arya said that more than 17 criminal cases, including murder and loot, were lodged against him in different police stations of east UP districts.
During initial interrogation, Jhinak divulged that he worked for Mukhtar’s sharpshooter Rajan Pasi’s gang. Apart from executing loot, robbery and murder plans, Rajan Pasi’s gang also executed the tasks given by the Mukhtar gang, he said.
