Body Parts Found In Drain; Severed Hand Has Bangle, Nail Paint | Noida News – Times of India

NOIDA: Human body parts were found in a drain outside a factory in Sector 8 on Thursday morning.
Police said the parts included two legs, a severed hand and some lumps. Paint on the nails and a bangle on the wrist suggested the parts could be those of a woman.
Panic gripped the area on Thursday morning when a sweeper cleaning the drain found the severed hand floating in the muck. “A team from the Phase 1 police station was rushed to the spot around 10.45am,” said Harish Chandar, the DCP.
Shakti Avasthy, the additional DCP, said they were scanning CCTV footage of nearby areas. “The body parts are likely to be 4-5 days old. An autopsy is being carried out to ascertain that. Police teams have been deployed and CCTV cameras are being checked. Nearby police stations are also being contacted for missing persons complaints,” he added.
“We are yet to get any confirmation, but they appear to be those of a woman,” a police source said.
The police suspect the woman might have been murdered and the body parts strewn in various parts of the city. “We suspect murder. The body would have chopped to pieces and dumped in different locations. We are checking CCTV cameras,” the source said.
